AA16 var namnet på de "rundnosade" diesellok Nohab tillverkade med licensavtalet som ingåtts med General Motors (GM) 1949 som grund. Loken var dieselelektriska med två treaxliga boggier, samt från början försedda med olika motorer ur GM:s EMD 567-serie , normalt i V16 konfiguration.
This was a custom design, among NOHAB-built AA16's unique to Hungary, but the controller wheel was hardly ever used in practice. The advantage of a throttle lever instead of a wheel is obvious; the throttle position can be seen more easily.
The overview starts with the NOHAB demo model. The fifth NOHAB AA16 built, builder number 2246, was used as a demo locomotive. Eventually it became the NSB Di3.602. In 2004 it was restored back to its demo colors.
